There are several factors to take into consideration here. One is how much time and money you are willing to invest. Also, whether or not your home is of a style and in a location where buyers would be willing to do work themselves, or typically prefer a “move-in” condition home. Before you do any work, make sure what you do will be able to be reflected in the sale price.
If you do not want to do the work yourself, or don’t have the cash to handle the repairs upfront, there are often buyers who are struggling to afford a home that would be happy to do the repairs themselves for a reduced purchase price.
